What is a JDM engine?

JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market. A JDM engine is a used engine removed from a vehicle in Japan and imported to the U.S. Many are the same engines that were sold here, and some are Japan-only versions.

Why do JDM engines often have lower mileage?

Cars in Japan tend to be retired earlier than cars in the U.S., so engines pulled there often have fewer miles than a typical domestic salvage engine. Each of our listings shows the approximate mileage for that unit.

How do I know an engine will fit my car?

Don't go by engine code alone. The same code can come in different versions that don't all fit the same vehicles. Every listing states the years and models it's listed for. If you're not sure, call (973) 969-5190 or send your VIN through our contact page and we'll confirm before you order.

What comes with the engine?

It depends on the listing. Complete engines often include parts like the intake manifold, injectors, coils and alternator, while long blocks do not. Check the "what's included" details and photos on each listing, and ask us if anything is unclear.

Is shipping really free?

Yes, to commercial addresses with a loading dock or forklift in the lower 48 states. Residential delivery is available for an added charge. Contact us for a residential quote. More on our shipping page.

How do engines ship?

Engines and transmissions ship by freight, palletized and wrapped. Inspect the shipment before you sign for it, and note any damage on the delivery receipt.

Do you offer a warranty?

Warranty terms are shown on each product page and in our refund and warranty policy. Professional installation is recommended.
